  • A dementia-friendly municipality that is easy to approach.
  • The neighbourhood serves as the starting point for assistance and support.
  • Personal contact for advisory and support questions.
  • Free public transport for seniors aged 67 and older with a city pass.
  • Adjustments and facilities that take potential limitations into account.
  1. Housing
  • Increase the availability of social rental housing for starters.
  • Support seniors by building suitable homes that enable them to move within the housing chain (e.g., knarrenhofjes).
  • Shopping centres and essential facilities must be reachable on foot.
  • Creative solutions for student housing.
  1. Care

  • A general practitioner, dentist, physiotherapist and pharmacy in every neighbourhood.
  • Affordable household assistance, tailored to individual needs.
  • Municipal services brought closer to residents by establishing local access points.
  • Prevention is better than cure: more focus on physical activity and fall-prevention.
  • Support for informal caregivers and volunteers.
  1. Safety
  • Improved street lighting and safe pavements suitable for rollators.
  • Assistance with digital skills for those who require it.
  • Ambulance, fire brigade or police must be able to respond within 15 minutes of a report.

  1. Combating Poverty

  • Strong focus on sustainability, including promoting environmentally friendly mobility (e.g., cable conduits in pavements for electric-vehicle charging and a social tariff for public charging stations).
  • Reduce the gap between rich and poor by strengthening connections between high-tech companies and social organisations and initiatives.
  • Organise public services in the broadest possible sense.
  1. Dialogue With Residents
  • Measure how quickly the municipality responds to questions from residents.
  • Residents receive assistance based on trust.
  • Regularly organise citizens’ assemblies.
  • Increase awareness of the right to challenge.

    • Green older neighbourhoods to prevent heat stress.
    • Develop a heat protocol in cooperation with general practitioners and pharmacies.
    • Develop a support programme for informal caregivers.
    • Improve the living environment by planting only native tree species that grow large (such as linden, poplar, willow).
    • Do not plant exotic species; plant only native trees and plants.
  1. Liveability and Sustainability

  • Reduce noise pollution from aircraft.
  • More police officers and enforcement officers (Boa’s) on the streets.
  • Clean drinking water is essential and receives extra attention.
  • No interference with the Dommel River.
  • Actively involve residents in initiatives for liveability and sustainability.

  • Use arts and culture to address and explore societal issues.
  • Arts and culture must reflect the diversity of society.
  • Artists must receive fair payment (Fair Pay).
  • Increase opportunities for cultural participation among seniors.
  • Offer unsold theatre tickets at 50% of the regular price.
